The freight forwarders and expediters are an essential part of every international port. Different shipping documentation (Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, etc.) accompany every ocean freight coming in and out of the port on a daily basis.
Optimizing the flow of this documentation is of the utmost importance, making sure the whole process is efficient and error-free. This is where document exchange lockers with Metra Smart System come in.

The Metra Smart Locker solution ensures that the flow of different cargo and transit documentation exchanges hands of freight forwarders, expediters and truck drivers in a secure, time-saving, efficient and error-free way.
There are two smart locker banks, one in each location (port terminal). Each locker bank is equipped with two robust Metra Display ISO, a smart locker screen with an embedded keypad and an RFID ISO reader.

Expediters use one or multiple documentation lockers, depending on their needs. The lockers are assigned to expediters from the MyMetraLockers locker management software. The software also provides real-time info and insights on locker use and the status of the smart locks and the smart locking system in the lockers. These and other functions save time and resources for the port and its staff, managing the document exchange lockers.
