Metra’s innovative network-less smart system powers Plug & play smart lockers for factory workers that seamlessly and securely store mobile phones at German pet food producer Bewital.

Bewital wanted secure and reliable Plug & play smart lockers for factory workers to complete their locker bank. The smart lockers needed to let workers use their access cards to access and manage the lockers entirely on their own, storing their mobile phones during each shift. Bewital also wanted a solution that offers simple and time-saving setup, management, and maintenance of both the lockers and the locker users. They calculated that roughly 60 individual locker compartments would meet the needs of the workers storing mobile phones each shift, since workers cannot carry mobile phones during their work.

The Metra Workplace Lockers Touch 4 Lite solution checked all the boxes. Metra implemented the Plug & play smart lockers for factory workers in a custom made metal locker bank. The Metra Smart Locker bank powers 64 smart locker compartments, each featuring a small plexiglass window, and runs simply by plugging into an ordinary wall socket. The locker administrator can easily and centrally manage everything related to locker access and locker assignment directly from Metra’s small touchscreen.
